Library, A Great Place to Hang out at

Do you know that libraries are an integral part of a sustainable community? Aside from providing a wealth of information on a variety of topics like environmental issues, libraries also promote equality as they help people from all walks of life gain access to the same information and services, regardless of their background or financial status.

Here are the reasons why library is an awesome place to visit in your leisure time.

1. Free access to learning and entertainment resources

Library is a great place to learn about anything like animation, crafts or simply doing a research for a personal project. You can even browse the catalogue online where ever you are and reserve a book or a DVD so that it’s easy for busy people to grab it once it’s available.

2. Free printing

Our city offers free library membership and you can print your files worth of $5.00 in a month. It’s absolutely not convertible to cash. It’s just their way to limit this free service and make it available to all. One tip I can give though is you can use your kid’s account if you need to print more or just wait for the next month.

3. Free conference or meeting place

Some libraries make it easy for students or a group of people to find a place to gather. Or are you thinking to have an event for a larger audience, just search for your local library website and see if they have the right place for your next creative video blog.

4. Borrow a laptop

Aside from books that you can borrow, check out your local library if they offer lending out laptops to members for up to two weeks. Normally, you only need a valid photo ID to take one home or outside if you’re working on a project. What a way to help reduce waste production!

5. Free programs and events

This is one of my most favorite services that libraries offer to the community. They have online and in-person programs such as money management or technology courses. They even have coding classes for kids! Interested in operas? Check out your local library schedule for exciting and interactive programs which a whole family can join.

6. It’s a big play area

Looking for a safe place for kids while having fun, too? A city library can never go wrong. Seniors and those who are young at heart always have a spot in this cool book-coated place.
